WHAT IS WIC?
WIC is a nutrition education
program.
WIC provides highly nutritious supplement foods that promote good health for
pregnant and postpartum women, breastfeeding mothers, infants and children up to
age five.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE
 | Pregnant women |
| Women who have a baby less than six months old |
| Breastfeeding mothers |
| Infants and children up to five years of age |
REQUIREMENTS:
| Live in Ohio |
| Are at nutritional or medical risk |
| Meet liberal income guidelines |
WIC PROVIDES
| Nutrition Education and breastfeeding support |
| Referral for health care services |
| Immunization screening and referral |
| Supplemental foods |

Revised WIC Income Guidelines
To be eligible on the basis of income, applicants' gross income (i.e. before
taxes are withheld) must fall at or below 185 percent of the U.S. Poverty Income
Guidelines. The guidelines for WIC are shown below.
